My book, " Artificial Intelligence, Ethics, and Communication: The Human Factor in the Age of Algorithmic Mediation, " has been published ( UOC Publishing ). This project, which I began working on in 2018, is now available in bookstores across the Spain, in Latin America, and on digital platforms.

We are living in a pivotal moment in which artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the way we live, work, and communicate. But how can we ensure that these technologies truly serve people and democracies?

In the book, I propose a vision I believe is necessary: applying the ethics of communication to the use of AI. I am convinced that if we collaborate with these technologies instead of fearing them or allowing them to replace us, we can harness their full potential to improve our societies.

The heart of this book: the human factor

In its pages, I propose a model of complementarity between humans and machines, arguing that if AI is used in communication, it should be used to create quality information, essential for strengthening our democracies. I also discuss the importance of communication as a key tool for the global governance of these technologies.

A book to reflect on together

This book is aimed at communication professionals, students, academics, and anyone interested in understanding how we can responsibly integrate AI into our lives. It's an invitation to reflect on the ethical, social, and cultural impact of AI and how we can actively participate in this technological transformation.

What will you find in its pages?

- A close and understandable analysis of how AI is changing our societies.

- Reflections on the fundamental role of communication in this new era in which the algorithms of large platforms play a leading role in mediation (filtering information from the world to people).

- Practical and ethical solutions to leverage these tools without sacrificing human values.

Available in bookstores and digital platforms

You can find it in bookstores across the country, in Latin America, and on major digital platforms. I hope you enjoy it and that its ideas inspire you as much as they did me while I was writing it.

Synopsis

Through communication, we can contribute to the governance of artificial intelligence by challenging certain narratives that portray technology as a competitor and enhancer of the human person, and that promote the automation of human activity with productivity and efficiency as the sole criterion. Making the most of artificial intelligence will also require responsible adoption of this technology in the media, within a framework of human-machine complementarity that, in journalism, implies using it to produce quality information, essential for the health of democracies. For all of this, the human factor will be essential.
